Yes these were in the press briefings, Beltless engine, EHR and cooled EGR.

Nav is not mentioned anywhere in the manual. You might actually be saving yourself some headaches by just getting a Garmin or TomTom over the Toyota system.

Yeah I finished reading the manual this morning and noticed they mentioned the screen just being a larger audio feature or whatnot. I'd rather not do an aftermarket Nav system. Do you think it's at all possible that the C does have one? Maybe there is a separate manual for it? Could be offered in a higher package? Sounds crazy not to include Nav, but I knew something would be missing for the lower price. Seemed too good to be true because everything else offered was right on track with what I needed. I'm so disappointed :pout:

Oh well, I'll just get another regular Prius then. Probably package IV without the sunroof, depending on costs.

Are you implying that the gen3 Prius in pwr mode boosts the voltage up to 650V? Like I have read somewhere that the CT200h does?

Yes, that's what I have read. GenIII indeed boost the voltage to 650V.

If you have a reference or link please let me know. I ave been looking for hard facts about this since a long time....

On another topic: is the battery of the c running at 200+ V like on the Prius o at a lower value around 100V? if lower, what are implications compared to his bigger sister?

3rd Gen spec page said Voltage: 650 V maximum.

Prius c press release said it'll have 144V battery. We don't know if the motor and inverter would get boosted and operated at 500V or 650V.

On page 29 of the user manual it states:
Take care when handling the hybrid system, as it contains a high
voltage system (about 520 V at maximum)

Also, on page 493 it states:
    Type: Nickel-metal hydride battery
    Voltage: 7.2 V/module
    Capacity: 6.5 Ah (3HR)
    Quantity: 20 modules
    Overall voltage 144 V

I'm new to hybrids, so maybe someone can explain the differences

    Thx

The battery is 144V but the motors run at 500V to be more efficient.

Under "using the audio system" the Prius c manual, says:

So now we just need to find that manual. ;)

I think they're doing the same as in the 2012 Prius which has basic nav included in the 3 (the nav cow is dying anyway) and the future being HUD nav.

So, we could see a Prius "c 3" being like the Prius in having Display Audio providing nav and Entune as well as 3-door SKS.

The battery is a lower voltage DC storage system, while the motor is a high voltage AC system. An "inverter" converts stored DC to AC and provides power control among other functions..

For the lack of rear-window wiper, rear luggage cover, coat hooks and cruise control, I'm hoping that's for a fleet only version (aka Prius One). If really hope the base one that consumers can buy at least has CC standard.

I do agree that the "iPod/USB Integration, AUX Audio Port, Bluetooth - Phone & Stereo Audio" being standard while CC isn't is strange....

I also noticed that the seat height adjustment is potentially optional (per page 76) as are rear view mirror defoggers (page 245) and aluminum wheels (page 392).

I can't wait for Toyota to post the 2012 PiP manual on the Toyota owners website. I did notice that they have posted the 2010 Prius Plug in owners manual, just as they did with the Prius C.

Another interesting thing I noticed was that the Prius c manual says not to use E15, despite the EPA having doing tests claiming that it doesn't harm 2007 and newer vehicles (EPA says E15 is ready for prime time - and your new-ish car). But from digging around on ABG, it seems that E15 is on hold...
