    Maybe the bleed bolt was ineffective? If it was, just disconnecting one of the topmost hoses would be as effective, say while refilling with coolant. Leave it off till coolant starts coming out, then quickly reconnect.

    Ah, but no! Don't do it unless you raise the tank. Pulling the hose will let more air in unless it's under pressure.

    How do you guys check the hybrid battery voltage. I have the torque pro app.
    When ice kicks in to warm up since its -4 f here in chicago the voltage is little over 18v each for the 14 pairs

    After 5 min once ice turns off its at 17v and dropping slowly

    It got crazy cold so i turned off the car and came in.

    I have a screen on mine that shows total battery voltage and a percent of charge screen. But I stopped looking at it because 1, the number fluctuates, sometimes wildly, depending on how I’m driving; and 2, because until the triangle comes on, or I start having battery codes, the number or state of charge is not important enough to monitor 24/7. Let the ECU monitor the voltage and turn on the warning light(s) IF an issue pops up.

    I agree;).

    I have an iPhone, so Torque is not an app I can use :cool:.

    But I have apps that can read codes and interpret what the car is telling me if a warning arises. Otherwise I roll without paying attention and enjoy the ride:).

    I suffer from paralysis by analysis during the work day, so I dont translate too much to the drive to or from(y).

    just wondering if anyone know if techstream can detect which abs sensor is bad or not. There is no code when i checked with my obd2.
    I did browse through other posts. my passenger side inner wheel well liner did came loose by driving through the polar vortex week ago. then it got stuck between the tire and road and off it came on middle of frickin highway.
    - it could be the obd2 adapter which stays plugged in
    - or the well liner.

    the light goes away when i restart. I did however slid in the snow which triggered the light. then drove 10 miles and went away when i restarted after 30 mins. then drove home another 22 miles and hasnt come back on.

    Your OBD scanner is simply not capable of reading the ABS code. There is a code stored, likely the side the fender liner came loose on.

    Techstream can tell you whatever the car is complaining about, which might or might not even be a bad wheel sensor.

    My usual advice would be to try to clear your mind as much as possible of Carnac-the-Magnificent guesses before you have opened the envelope, I mean, read the codes, and then let your guesses be guided by what the car tells you. By investing too much in guessing beforehand, it is possible to make yourself more likely to see some clues than others, and end up going a longer way around before you find the problem.

    I rerouted my coolant lines to bypass the heater core + heat recovery. Still ran hot , bottom passenger side radiator hose cold. I'll put in new thermostat sometime next week. Hopefully thats the culprit. Its got a new radiator. The old thermostat wasn't that old but it could be the defective water pump screwed up the wax.I boiled my OEM thermostat in some water and it didn't open till around 100c. I had a Gates branded thermostat that one didn't open up until it hit 95c. The OEM has 82c stamped on it.

    I went to the dealer to pick a new thermostat. Check out what they had for sale! I had to ask for the EPR, which he sold to me. He says they charge 190$ for the engine flush labor. I ended up buying two bottles at 16$ each.

    44k waits for next fall(y).

    I'd bet it's ok now t
    Do you know if the Gen 4 water pump is ok on the Gen 3? I mean is the Gen 3 a better water pump?

    I don't know for sure. I'd need tech stream hook it up and see which one can spin faster. The thermostat is the same for 2010 and 2016 same part number. I still have my old water pump. Its an AISIN with Toyota scratched off.

    Does it matter? I have gen 4 on there which came with engine from LKQ.

    Using the iPhone app for my employer, the water pump part numbers are the same Gen 3 to Gen 4. So no worries there.
