Can Engine Link stream from a Bluetooth OBD device? I have the GoPoint BT1 and would like to use that.

If you have a jail broken phone you could probably get it working with roqybt4 and roqyobd4. I know I got my buddy's Bluetooth one working with my iPhone 5.

Not jail broken, but the BT1 is an actual legitimate Apple approved adapter. I got it for use with the Dashcommand app and it works well with it.
Dashcommand doesn't support custom PIDs so I'm looking for an app that does.

All you really need is the ip and port of the adapter and it should work. Use the same settings that dash command uses.

It looks like we might need to do a little research. The bt1 might use a different protocol.

So, let's see. The app isn't much of an investment (compared to what I paid for DashCommand) but I'd like an idea of the likelihood that I'll be able to get it to work with my BT1 dongle. If that doesn't work, next stop would be a cheap WiFi OBD adapter, right?

You could do that. The wifi adapters are only about $15-$20 but if the app supported your bt1 it would be ideal. I'll look at it when I get some free time.

Does anyone know the engine link parameter that is equivalent to the scangauge's IGN (ignition timing advance)?

Try to see if you can find one for the android app Torque. I'm pretty sure all of the Torque ones will work in EngineLink.

That's what I've done. Now if amazon would just send the obd wifi adapter I ordered...

Got the obd2 wifi adapter, connected without any problem. App works great. I'm trying to get ignition timing advance. It's not in the standard pid's or the prius gen3 custom pid's, so I found a list of pid's for the torque app:
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0Ar6-3mN7UKCdG9OWlJZT3BjSEpFVjJ4QkJSZ0FLcHc&f=true&noheader=false&gid=1

Ign advance is row 118. So far iv entered the data a couple times. First with the spaces between the terms in the formula, then without any spaces. I get no data back in the app. I have not yet downloaded the spreadsheet as a .csv file and imported, and I'd rather not have to do that just for one pid. Any suggestion? I feel like this is probably a syntax problem on my part, but I'm not sure what to try next.

Copy the line from the Csv you want into your Csv and import that.

I was at work last night so I couldn't connect to iTunes. I did manage to find a "generic" pid in the link from the engine link wiki page so I entered it into engine link several different ways and they all worked. The reading I get back is 10 higher than what I've read others get from the scangauge ( it reads +5 at idle rather than the -5 the scangauge reads) but if I can't fix it, I can deal with it. New mpg record for my drive home this morning: 61.7 mpg for a 53 mile drive with 40-45 miles of highway. Engine link read a bit over 59mpg for the trip. App works great. Only 2 things I'd like: dark background with light colored type (current display is very hard to see with the bright florida sun due to lack of contrast) and the ability to have the instantaneous mpg on the custom screens.

The new version (2.6) added background color option for custom PID page. The instantaneous and average MPG can be added to custom screen. Here is the PID settings for MPG:

    Header: 0
    PID: 010D
    Formula: mpg
    Min: 0
    Max: 100
    Description: Instantaneous MPG
    Unit: Mile/Gal

And this will give you average MPG
    Header: 0
    PID: 010D
    Formula: ampg
    Min: 0
    Max: 100
    Description: Average MPG
    Unit: Mile/Gal

Thanks! I've been playing with the color selection. I've found for me a vblack background works best at night and a bright background works best during the day. I leave the saturation slider all the way to the left (top one), the transparency (bottom) slider all the way right, and move the center slider (luminosity) to the right for daytime and to the left for nighttime. Works perfectly.

Is there any update on if this works with a Bluetooth Adapter or not? If not I can always break out a laptop....

EDIT.... Nevermind, cancelled the order for the Bluetooth Adapter and got the Wifi Adapter instead. Can we read fuel levels yet?

    Thanks!

For Bluetooth connection to an ELM 327 adapter on my iPhone 5 (Jailbroken + Cydia) I installed roqyBT4 and roqyOBD4. The roqyBT license is €5.

Does anyone have the gen 3 (2013 liftback) custom PID csv for engine link? I see that the android users have a pretty up to date one for the torque app and was just wondering if there was one for us iOS users. Thanks in advance!
