I'm getting a lot of run-around from my dealership about installing the Toyota-Canada block heater in my '10 Prius. They are stalling me saying there might be some "hidden differance" in my Missouri-purchased car and the ones sold up north. They say if they can't get it through their parts supply chain (even though it is a Toyota part), they won't install it.
Is this a valid concern, or just BS?? Or should I just change dealerships??

Sounds like BS to me. Try another dealer or parts.com

BS, the engine is the same anywhere in the world! My dealer insisted it wasn't a Toyota part since the number wasn't in their computer, but I said yes it is, in Canada, and they installed it. No problems!

Yep, my heaters are from Defa. I think you are right about oil pan heater, we use word “radiation heater†in Finnish language. But basically they all warm up block after all. ;)

I confirm also that only main differences around world between 2010 Priuses are in software. That’s the reason I am here... :)
