Unlike corporate Toyota that ditched California for Texas?
Maybe he was just grossed out by all the homeless' feces & Needles strewn about Calif streets - as well as legalized robbing under $1,000. It's what motivated lots of us that left Cali recently.

Any fire, no matter the fuel, is very bad in a tunnel. BEVs have shown to be capable of burning.

I was involved in bridge and tunnel construction when I was an advocate for local transit rail lines. $15 million a mile is a ridiculous lie by Elon Musk. Don't believe anything that comes out of the mouth of that guy. Even a single-lane bridge over a freeway would cost a billion dollars a mile. Tunnels are at least twice as expensive. Besides, that was more than five years ago, and inflation in construction costs keeps rising every year.

Regarding building freeways in tunnels, there was a hot debate in LA for many years for closing a 4.5-mile gap in the 710 freeway with a tunnel. The latest cost was put around 12 billion dollars, but if they actually built it, I am sure it would cost at least 20 billion dollars. The project was recently abandoned for good. Reality vs. Elon Musk sh*t-posting.

Musk has owned gasoline cars when he was younger. Hard to believe but people change their minds.
