that's my grandson's play table. i got it free at the dump, should i add it to your chiselers thread? you won't fit that in the back of the prime.
The chairman of Sony, in the late 90's at a press conference said something intentional that made the stock drop 40 points and then loaded up, he got fired. Drumph has attacked Amazon hoping to drive the stock price down and put Amazon out of business, he seems to be above the law, momentarily. Treating shorts the way Drumph is treating the press is very similar, shorts aren't doing anything wrong, the people that blame them are to emotional, it's buisness, buying a high prices stock with no P/E ratio expecting to double your money is an emotional experience. Today, an investor could have spent the day day-trading tsla and made 15-20++++ points, just like most every day, listening to emotionally involved people that are behind in a stock and then blindly buying will have the SEC taking away your house title. Getting five points on the way down pays as well as getting five points on the way up, and tsla is a day-traders dream.
Sale? Or a collapse..... That's ok. It's the grandkid's inheritance. Let it ride. I have small investments in several companies for them. I just gotta quit watching it.
Hoping they will settle in a way that lets Musk maintain a strong role in the company. When Jobs was exiled for a few years it didn't go so well for Apple.
I don't really own a Prius, either. I just like the company here. But seriously, like you I have the majority of long-term savings in CDs. I'm old. I want it nice and safe. I'm certainly not rich. The stock investments are rather small. Investment money that was passed on to me, and I in turn pass it on. I wish Tesla the best.
I’d be surprised if it isn’t forgotten fairly quickly, especially if Tesla hits the net profit goal for both 3rd and 4rth quarter. This has been settled now, and hopefully won’t distract from the third quarter numbers. SEC.gov | Elon Musk Settles SEC Fraud Charges; Tesla Charged With and Resolves Securities Law Charge
Now if he’d only learn to use his mouth in proportion to the other organs on his head, he’d save his venture $$$$.
The investors that were negatively impacted by the tweet. I don’t know if that means the shorts, or the investors that bought above $350 when they heard the going private number was $420, or some combination. That was probably the toughest “pill to swallow” part of the settlement. Musk steps down from the Board of Directors, but remains CEO. Basically, this, IMO, has a few nice things, which should have already been done, and the rest is no big deal.
CEO, President, and Chairman of the Board can theoretically all be the same person, but good corporate governance insists that they should be different people. Musk is keeping one position, stepping down from another, and I don't see any indication that third exists at Tesla.
That is what I am wondering. Leaves a really bad taste in my mouth, but I am hoping the fine goes towards people that bought or sold owned shares, rather than borrowed shares. From what I hear, most Shorts closed out their positions Friday, but a few did not? Extremely unwise, as Friday’s losses look to be erased in pre-market buying.
