I still have an undeveloped roll that I procrastinated dropping off for so long that there's nowhere to drop it off anymore. I don't even know what's on it, or if it can be developed at all given the intervening decades. Where's a Fotomat when you need one?

I have one exposed medium format roll, more'n likely fogged, about 40 years old. Also a few straggler slides (same era) I didn't get around to scanning. May never, just let go, did get lots.

If I could get back all the money I spent on clunker pictures that I threw away, I could buy a new professional level DSLR.

Mine are getting dusty, while I snap away with a long-in-the-tooth iPhone. Convenience trumps gear.

Absolutely!! I'm actually giving serious thought to selling my Nikon. I just upgraded from an iPhone 8 Plus to an iPhone 11 Pro Max. The picture quality is just incredible. The 8+ was no slouch, but this thing is amazing. Just sold the old one to a missionary friend in Africa.

Well, DSLR is a dying breed just like film SLR. It is now a mirrorless time. I still use DSLR just because many of the lenses I have for my film SLR cameras Minolta and Nikon still works on DSLR bodies (Sony for Minolta now). I also have many Canon manual lenses I used on Canon A1 35mm film SLR, but I can not use them anymore. No more FD mount for digital Canon. When I buy next camera which is likely to be mirrorless, I will have to invest in new sets of lenses just for the mirrorless body. I like the prime lenses, but I don't know if that is going to work on the mirrorless.

I'm in Sonora, near Yosemite, I have an E-6 rate plan for EV owners, with time of days rates. Off-Peak is still higher than your Roseville flat rate - I'm at $0.1376. Peak rate Tier 2 is $0.32. I'm jealous x10!
