Have a '12 Prius v Five with fog lights and no DRL :( Was thinking about adding this module I found on eBay. Seller has been very helpful. I'm just not 100% certain this is a mod we can do on our own.
DRL Universal Module Relay Daytime Running Lights with Coming/Leaving Home !! anyone have any experience with it? Seller is in Poland. Thanks in advance.

Triggering the fogs as DRLs with a READY voltage sense is a Saturday morning project. It would help to have a pair of pliers, wire stripper, a variety of connectors, and a Digital Volt Ohm Meter. Just make sure your harness has continuity and your >13.2V and ground connections are good.

Yes, I installed this module, without the coming and leaving home function, and it failed within the warranty period.

The seller sent a replacement, but unfortunately, that too failed soon after. The problem is that there are connectors to the DRL module that are not weatherproof and the module shorted out. You can see the main wiring harness connector is exposed, I suspect that it might be ok if the module is mounted inside the passenger compartment, protected from the elements, but it didn't last mounted in the engine compartment, exposed to road spray.

I had the Toyota LED DRL kit installed perhaps 4+ years ago and through all sorts of weather not one hiccup. While a switch will turn them on and off, the switch on mine stays on 24x7 and I verify their operation as I turn the car on in the garage as the lights shine off the back of the garage. So no owner activity required after paying for the kit and installation. The switch and lights mounting on my '12 v Three are very OEM looking and no one would ever think if was not there from the factory. I didn't say it was cheap but the fact that it was complete with Toyota approved instructions and all hardware gave me the notion to just do it. As I run around on rural roads at dawn and dusk, I am glad I did it. I've known of others who didn't and are no longer here.

Thanks for sharing this news. I don't have DRLs installed yet... Either figure out how to open the fender to detach and open the fuse box or maybe the Sylvania ZEVO FOG DRL unit, if I ever decide to try again!

The WebElectric DRL kit that pat767, I and others installed on their Prius v is a a very nice solution. The Prius v front turn signals in the bumper are stunningly bright when used as DRL and I think as bright and noticeable as the LED DRL I've seen many times on the regular Prius sedan. The WebElectric DRL kit hasn't shorted the life of the turn signal bulbs - I installed the kit in June 2013 and still on the original bulbs..
