Driver door does not unlock, beeps few times

I am having this issue now too. 2016 Prius. I get multiple beeps and the drivers door (only) will not unlock. It is able to be manually opened from the inside.

also, and may be related, it will sometimes NOT beep upon locking and the latch will not lock the car. I can “fix” it by locking and unlocking several times from the inside burins.

 

I have a 2021 Prius XLE that I just got financed, used with 21k miles. This exact issue has happened to me a handful of times. I am at a loss. I've never seen something like this. All the other doors will unlock, but if I use the fob or use the exterior driver door handle, it's beeps at me and won't unlock the driver door. I just got my Mustang bought back by Ford for airbag and Transmission faulties, and I was hoping Toyota would be better. But seeing that multiple owners over various gens/trims of the prius have yet to come up with a fix for this, I'm concerned. Here I go down the rabbit hole again lol. Time to contact toyota and see if they can fix it

With your model year and mileage, you should still be under warranty? Take it to the dealer and let them worry about it.

Disappointing for sure, but seem you just got a bit unlucky with that minor issue, as Prius have a reputation of being one of the most reliable on the road…
