Some of the VW bugs did NOT have an oil filter, but did have an oil mesh. Without an actual filter, short oil changes were mandatory. My neighbor seemed to be changing his VW oil, a lot..

You could have bought a 2018-2019 Rav4 1.5L and be needing a change as some are every 1 to 2k miles due to gas in the oil if you actually bought one and expected it to take short trips and operate in cold weather. I almost bought one and then read the forums and read the UOIs (Used Oil Analysis).

OK ... So I've never been any fan of Rav4s. ... when you say "1.5L" ... are you stating that they have a 1.5 liter engine?!?

Website says 2.5 liter, for the 2019 RAV4 Hybrid. FWIW, the Honda CRV is 1.5 liter, and turbo-charged.

Those are sewing-machine sized engines. LOL.

    1.5 liters = 91.5 cubic inches ... 2.5 liters = 152.6 cubic inches.

Chevy VEGA engine = 2.3 liters ; 139.6 cubic inches.

In a PRIUS it's OK though ... I'm just sayin'.

    Sorry.
    I just couldn't be post #45.

So what? Nelson Piquet won the FIA F1 Drivers' Championship in 1983 driving a Brabham powered by the 1500cc BMW M12/13 turbo. The engine produced 850 bhp (630 kW) in qualifying trim and 640 bhp (480 kW) in race trim. (adapted from Wikipedia)

    Also, watch this:

A BMW 1.5L is perhaps the most powerful F1 engine to date. It's a fascinating story how they developed the engine using super-thermocycled blocks.
