Heh, I've had several names for my cars over the years. The default one is 'Bessie.' Points go to what TV show that's in reference to. Secondary name was 'Ace' at times too (the car was rather temperamental). But that was back when I had the Corolla. Nowadays, if I reference my Prius (over its three incarnations now), its usually 'The Battleship' (after the special NJ plates on it). If I can get the appropriate custom work done, it may end up becoming a rolling ad for Uru Live too (and hence a re-name). --TSK
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(ZipZippo2000 @ Dec 24 2006, 11:41 PM) </div> Just to let you know, Cessna named a single engine plane "Cutlass," so you can use that, instead of Oldsmobile.
Hehe, I always name my vehicles! When I got the car, images of the movie Blade Runner ran through my mind, and I couldn't resist. Her name is in my sig.
i wanted to call her penny (penny the prius) or maggie (because she's magenta grey) but hubby laughed at me so we just call her "the prius" or "the car"
I used to mention it in my sig before I changed it. I call it Tommy, short for "Tom Swift and his Electro-Mechanical Auto-Mobile."
Glenda as in "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" At first I just named the Nav system that but I figured that was kind of silly so I named the whole car that...LOL Glenda is the Good witch in the Wizard of Oz... Glenda my car is the Good Bitch... I know, I know, I am a geek!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(withersea @ Jun 12 2006, 03:01 PM) </div> I named my brand new 2007 Prius Touring Car (Pkg. 6) The Silver Bullet
Hayden. No real reference to the car here, her being electric, or hybrid, or anything, just simply because Hayden Panettiere is HOT! And I read she is trading in her Porsche for a Prius! I know, I know, she is only 18 but to quote Dazed and Confused: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Wooderson (Dazed and Confused) @ 1993)</div>
My Dad used to name all his cars. I remember Sam, the Saab ( a late '60s ugly blue thing). There was Gregor the Gremlin, and the ol' Plymouth was a "piece of %$##!!!" But I can't name my cars, but when the nav talks to me, I must admit I do reply "yes dear", so her name is Dear
"The Prius", or "My Car" is what I call it. I also have a name for my wife's car. "Her Car" or "RAV4" My other car also has a name, "My Crown" or "The Old Crown MS55" My motorbike has a name too, "The GV650" because it's a Hyosung GV650. My lawn mower is called "The Mower."

Mine is the Black Pearl! Yeah I know it's not original, but I loved those Pirates of the Carabean movies....
Carlotta -- stolen directly from Armistead Maupin's "Michael Tolliver Lives". "There is no fifth destination!"
It used to be your car or mine. Then 2 weeks ago my husband got his 2007 Prius and is putting a shark fin on it so his will be SHARKY and mine SWEETPEA (silver pine mica) also our friends just bought a Prius and I will try to talk her into naming theirs.
I named my Prius Mel. After my Grandfather who passed away last October. He loved cars and would have enjoyed the Prius. I remember he used to turn off the car about 20ft before stopping in the garage to get that "no engine" feel. I recall how funny it felt to be moving w/o the engine on. I'm sure he would have gotten a kick out of the abilities of the Prius to be on w/o the ICE. Blue was his favorite color which helped convince me to go with Seaside Pearl. I was debating between that and Driftwood for months.
I thought I already replied to this thread (there must be a similar one somewhere). I named my black Prius Darwin. I am a 'scientist', but more so, the car represents an evolutionary linkage between the gasoline powered cars of yesterday with the electric cars of tommorrow.
