Does anyboby know if the brake pump is the same for all gen 3

Probably because Toyota was replacing them free for anyone regardless of miles until recently. Maybe some sharp entrepreneur will take up the challenge.

 

Make sure you get the correct one depending on what model Prius you have, the 5's required a different ABS unit than a 2 or 3 takes. Give your VIN number to the parts person to be fully sure on what part number you need.

 

To try to keep this thread on topic, the thread title refers to the "brake pump".

The pump is the lower assembly in this drawing;



The upper assembly (known as the booster, or master cylinder, or actuator, depending on who you're talking to) comes in different flavors depending on the vehicle equipment and wheel size.

The lower assembly, the pump, does not, as far as I know. Just the one flavor. There may be older and newer versions, but they aren't application-specific.

 

When purchasing anything from a simple bolt all the way up to an engine, it's always best to order with your VIN # (dealer will literally ask you anyway for most everything now). There are too many variables, and revised parts that cross over. The previous comment was very much ON topic.
