Thanks, that's good info - now I know exactly where to apply my 12V for the fan.

Is that 4 pin connector a standard part? Hoping to buy the female end to keep the wiring super simple.

    Hello guys,
Regarding prius g2 battery reconditioning... maybe you can make me understand:
if you follow the Prolong instrunctions for descharging and if you use a grid charger, you should descharge the entire 28 modules battery to 134/101/84V, meaning 4.8V/3.6V/3V per module (0.8V/0.6V/0.5V per Cell).
If you are discharging individual modules with kind of iMax, the disch voltage should be 6V per module, meaning 1V per Cell.
Some posts says that you should never discharge a NiMh cell under 0.8V.
Can you please advice which is correct?
    Many thanks

Discharging below 1 volt is possible, it's risky , but it's necessary for reconditioning, it should be done at very low current and only according to prolong directions, in order to minimize the risk of polarity inversion. If discharged below 1v at higher current, there is a risk of polarity inversion and the cell will die.

A single NiMh cell can be discharged down to zero volts. At that low voltage it can break up the crystals (memory) that lower capacity.

The problem with a Toyota hybrid is that you're discharging all 168 cells and as they age they all have different capacities. Discharging the high capacity cells to low voltages can over discharge the low capacity cells.

Below is what happened when I ran the discharger at the 17 volt setting. Bank #5 (with 12 NiMh cells) fell below 2 volts. I was watching it on my phone and stopped the discharger when bank #5 dropped below two volts. After I stopped the discharger bank #5 bounced back to 12.9 (1.1V per cell). I would be concerned if the bank #5 voltage ended up being less than 12V.

Before and after last reconditioning, this time the balancing voltage ended at 245v

    Latest developments:

    - 3D printed housing containing
    12 v 12A fan power supply, 250v 350ma grid charger and a meter.

    - 4 poles harness with fuse, 12v dc , 250v dc.

When I charge I disconnect the original fan plug and I connect another one PN (6520- 0349) coming from the new grid charger.
