Dimmable Dome light in Prius with 1 Watt Xenon White high powered LED

If your camera has a white balance option be sure to set it to the right lighting conditions. If you can manually set the white balance all you need is a sheet of paper. On my camera all I have to do is set it on the manual setting for white balance and take a picture of a white piece of paper in the current lighting condition. This tells the camera this is what white looks like. If your camera dosnt have that manual setting your pretty much screwed unless you can trick the auto setting.

I like those LEDs. I'm tempted to buy a set. But then I realize I dont use those lights enough to make it worth it.

I went to the Sylvania site and the only 2007 Toyotas the list do not include Prius. When I looked at their 2006 Prius bulb list, it shows DE3022 for cargo and DE3175 for dome, and as I said, I measured them as 28mm and 31mm. You list 31mm for all these festoon bulbs. Will the 31mm bulb, which is also larger diameter, fit in the DE3022 slots?

So what are you getting, jgills240? The full package (map and front overhead, vanities, step (door), dome, cargo)?

Anybody thought about replacing the 7440A turn signals with LEDs?

This will cause the car to think you have a bulb out and make the turn signal flicker faster as a warning. To get around that you would need to install some kind of load in series with the LED. This would defeat the purpose of the LED as the load would make you draw the same amount as you did with the regular bulb. or something like that.

 

Yeah, I thought about the fast flash. It is attention-getting, but I think I like the chrome more.

Yes this works. I have LEDs in my side markers. The side markers are tapped into the wires the turn signals use. When I unplug the turn signal and leave the side marker LEDs plugged in they blink faster.

According to the folks on the LED forum at HIDPlanet, it's supposed to be the ultimate LED dome light. I did have to use the Dremel a lot to make it fit though.
