Aye but the OE 17" wheel uses a 215/45/17 which is approx. 844. Cheaters! Haha

But I've always pointed out that the 215/45R17 size is too small, plus the extra width would also add to the rolling resistance.

I know. You're the one who originally brought it to my attention but since it was the opposite problem we have on the GenII I never followed up on it. I was being lazy. :(

Well, after MUCH stress and searching and calling and constant price increasing over the last week (due to oil prices).....($27 increase per tire from Saturday to today!), I was able to wheel and deal and get a TOTAL price for the Michelin Pilot Super Sport, 225/40ZR/18 XL tires for $860 (and that price is including shipping and zero tax). Plus, on top of that, Michelin has a $70 rebate thru April 1, 2012. So, if anyone is shopping for awesome tires at a STEAL, I called Discount Tire Direct and got the price and paid for them over the phone. So, now they're headed my way! Woo hoo!!

lol! I know, right?! My mother has suddenly started pressuring me a bit about the spending, so I knew I couldn't just buy them from the 1st place I found... I had to shop and pressure places for the best price. People just want to stick you with an "in stone" retail price and not negotiate. Anyway, I spent the day emailing and calling and doing live chats with various tire stores' online agents, and ended up getting the price from $227.99/tire PLUS tax PLUS $118 shipping, to $860 total --- everything included. Of course, I still have the whole coilover installation to address, and I have to see what is involved to swap over our tire sensors to the new wheels, but the end is near! lol

Strange since others with 18" sizes are doing okay with the DWS. I'm also assuming you mean 225/45R17. ;)

Any other people using DWS in other sizes?
