I am interested in both the unit and the cradle. Does this mean that you can see vidoe from the ipod on the center screen?

You should have my order for the DICE so count me in here as well.

In the manual (p 430/431) it shows:

    39. DOME 15 A: Audio system, interior
lights, smart entry and start system,
gauge and meter, turn signal lights,
    luggage room light, clock

Well I tried the Dome fuse, I reset both my trip meters, my clock, and my MPG. As for getting the radio to display any data from the iPod nada :( I pulled the fuse counted to 10 slowly and put it back in. Hope that was long enough.

Are you sure the switches are set correctly? You may want to go out there and make sure/try something different with them - from the factory settings, i had to flip one switch in the left most group to get mine to work right.

Thanks I'll give that a try. I believe mine are all off (up I think). I thought I had double checked that with the instructions but I'll check it again.

The instructions do say (i believe) that the first two switches aren't currently used, and that the second two should both be up, but in a post somewhere else on the site here (feel like scanning through 20 pages of Dice posts? :lol:0 someone posted about flipping the one switch to get it to work.

for the 06 units the second switch needs to be down (from left to right - up down up up)

Ok tried up/down/up/up and still the same. I can control my iPod but nothing but the six CD icons and the three buttons on the bottom, no data.

Guess I need to call Dice next.

Thought I would add my experience with doing an install in a 2006 with NAV. First, kit includes a
second connector cable/adapter to convert AUX from larger to smaller form factor. Doesn't seem
to be mentioned in the documentation, and figured it out when I felt behind the radio and determined
the larger connector would not fit. Removing glovebox and vent cover was straightforward. Easy
if tight to thread connector through holes in bottom of glovebox. Connected my U2 iPod and played
immediately showing album and track in the folder and file fields of the head display. While it does
toggle between the CD changer and the iPod when you press CD/AUX, it always indicates that it is
using Changer 1. I had thought it would indicate Changer 2. Indicates it is seeing an MP3 disk. Also,
if you try to select the other disks to change selection mode (PLAYLIST, ALBUM) it displays those words
in the folder field the first couple of times, but then everything vanishes. If in PLAYLIST, selection arrows
will advance through playlists, but the name of the playlist is not displayed, so you have to guess where
you are from the first song when it plays. Thinking the unit might work better if reset, I pulled the
DOME fuse as others suggested, but it operates the same way. So, it may be working as designed,
but it is funky to use and navigate. Also, the volume is much louder than for a CD, and the high end
will sometimes crackle. I will have to play with it some more, but I think part of the funkiness is the
DICE is designed for regular radio display, and not the NAV head unit.

Well got mine to work :) Called Dice and they had me unplug the box from the head unit and plug it back in (with the 2nd dip switch on) and it started working. I'm having an issue of the volume being way low. Normally I'm in the mid 20s but with the iPod I seem to be pushing high 40s to get a decent volume.

I have to agree about the unit being funky to navigate. When you change an album, you have no clue as to which album you are on unless you happen to know the first song. I still need to play with it a bit more but I've also notice the display either displaying no data or not updating when changing from one mode to another.

Thanks to all who help me along the way !!

High 40's?!?!? i usually set mine to 25 for the radio, and found that i have to turn it down to 15 for the iPod, at least at surface street speed (turn it up a bit more for highway).

It is a little funky, and i hope they come out with a free software upgrade to improve that sometime soon. But for what it's worth, if i'm looking for a particular playlist or song, i'll be using the iPod controls anyways - i don't think you can beat the UI!

Me too... But at least it sounds good and clear of noise or distortion...

On the freeway on the way home I had it up to 50 believe it or not. Usually the radio or XM though the aux port is in the mid to high 20s. Using the iPod though the aux port was higher than the radio but no more that the low 30s. When I talked to Dice today they thought the unit might be bad. I'm going to mess around with it a bit before exchanging the one I have.

I found that having Sound Check engaged made a huge difference. With it off, the iPod was LOUD...and distorted, even though it's coming through the line out. It was subtle and occasional, but it was there, and I couldn't live with it. So I turned Sound Check back on, which made the iPod the softest thing in my system, and meant that I could easily turn the sound up to max and still be OK. You might try playing with that.

The more I use it, the funkier it seems. When switching between D modes, the folder text will stay stuck as PLAYLIST. Only turning the audio entirely off then on again will return you to seeing the Album and Track Title. Others seem to refer to the display showing text for the TITLE block. That suggests the CD changer is NOT in MP3 mode, but Disc mode. Is it supposed to be in MP3 mode when accessing the iPod? If not, maybe that is why it is behaving oddly...

I don't know for certain, but I always assumed it was acting as a CD changer.

Agreed!...I have also seen the strange operations...

The real problem I have is that I have one playlist with just new stuff...and just songs...it seems very hard to get the unit to just play all the songs...

And I also have the volume being softer...when I had it hooked to the AUX jack in the console, it was LOUD!...wish they had the feature of the AUX on the DICE to increase/decrease the volume...

Sorry, read that wrong. I had answered thinking it was how to control the AUX volume of the DICE, rather than the AUX on the Prius.

    Carry on....

But my understanding was that those settings only effected the aux port on the Dice... does it also control the iPod sound?
