True, but my post was for all user types. It's not always about the maps. Many users need POI updates and they account for the biggest set of changes with each revision. It also depends on where you live. Our housing has been on fire for a decade. It's not uncommon to have a wheat field one week and 600 houses and new streets in a matter of months. Hard to believe if you don't see it happening. So, yes, some do need frequent updates and the more current the better. It takes time to publish the updates, and a single update per year is not enough for users that need it. Sure, many don't need that, but many do. I'm not excluding either group.

I've been volunteering to add new streets/POI's on Openstreetmap.org and GoogleMaps for many, many years. Those new streets and POI's don't just magically appear.

Just goes to show ya.. I hate how long those messages stay up there. I read them. Then i check traffic, then I read them again, etc. Round about the 3rd read I get irritated that they are taking up screen space I had specifically chosen to use to obtain other information.

New data . . . My Prime was delivered Sept 13th and was built in August 2017.

My map version is 05-37-51 dated 2017-04-01

It does appear their may be map versions being produced at more frequent intervals than annually. If so, this is good.
