Since I had my bike with me today, I thought I swing by the dealership. With just the right rear seat down, the bike fits with the front wheel off. With a little effort(move front passenger seat up), I think it will fit with front wheel on! Very spacious car for it's size! The only problem I see is the seat post hangs over the left rear seat. I can simple rig something make a bracket to prop it up.
Have you looked at the 2014 Honda Accord? That thing is sick. It's fast and has great handling capabilities. It gets 47 mpg in hybrid mode and it's also a plug in. The style looks great but the downside is it's 10,000 over what you're willing to spend. Although I would not spend money on the Prius Persona. It's just for the looks. I would get the basic Prius and upgrade it with better sound system, upgrade suspension, along with adding a hi-flow intake, and a hi-flow catalytic converter. It will increase fuel economy as well as performance.
2014 Accord does have some drastic changes! I guess they got the message the current model is boring? They have a lot of catching up to do! I won't be putting my money down on a new platform though. Yes, the Persona is aesthetically pleasing to me and I rank that highly. I can't stand how the Prius looks with smaller wheels. This SE edition isn't that much more than the standard 3. Just off top of my head, maybe $1300? with that you get Softex, wheels and a few other things. A very well valued package. For $1300, you can barely buy a set of wheels. What's the point of upgrading suspension and not the wheels? What do those mods yield in terms of power/mpg?
If you're asking about the "hi flow intake" and "hi flow catalytic", they will not offer much for the Prius (but your wallet will be lighter). In a normal car, this will help but the Prius is so finely tuned for economy, messing with anything on it usually detracts from it in some way or another.
Passed the bike test! Fits with one seat down! Takes a little finesse but its a go. Another trick is hold the seat up with bungee. Not sure if you can see it.
Ford C-Max? Lol, Ford says more power and better mpg than a Prius v. But, the rear end is butt ugly. J/K, I can't see you going from a BMW to a Ford.
Drove the rental(trim 5) 40 miles and is very nice. Went through a local canyon and car showed very good power (for what it is) and handles well. Easily faster than speed limit up the hill. Key things seems to be is keep up the momentum. It struggles at lower RPM. Handling is pretty good, fairly flat and a understeers just a bit when pushed. Since I have been testing out the power, mpg is down as expected, it's around 38-39. The lack of power seems to mainly be off the line at lower RPM. But once it gets going, it's better than I expected. I was lucky enough to even get a Blizzard white(the color I want). Looks great with silver 17" alloys and the dark gray 2 tone interior. Things are looking good.. I just hope I'm ok with the Persona instead of the "5". Oh HUD is cool too.. JBL sure doesn't compare with Lexus's sound system. Did I just find an error on Toyota's site? It notes Persona has standard, power Softtex Driver's seat. The Persona I looked at does not have power driver's seat. Anyone with a Persona have power driver's seat? SofTex®-trimmed heated front seats with seatback pockets; 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat with power lumbar support; 4-way adjustable front passenger seat Standard
They dont exist. I just searched all of northern Ca and Nv for you on toyotas network and it doesnt show. Your local dealer should have told you this.
Nope sell them in Auburn Ca. Selling a prius to a guy in palo alto this weekend. Yep doing it yourself is easy enough. If they did exist, they dont as of today. We have a package two with the plus kit in Pearl, and had the boss search all Personas and nothing popped up in 62 northern Ca and Nv store's.
I have a Persona (blizzard pearl no less) and it does NOT have power seats. I also saw that in the website. It must be an error or they're planning a change that hasn't happened yet. BTW, LOVE the car and we came out of a 2010 IV with solar sunroof/nav.
