    This is almost comically outrageous.
I am so glad I rented a Prius and drove it for several hours over a weekend when I was shopping for cars last year. Driving the rental for a 2.5 hour road trip each way help me see the 2008 Prius was not the car for me.
I will probably rent a 2010 Prius in a few months and I'll see if a 2010 or 2011 might be my next car.

It looks to me that a major part of the problem is the headrest. I've owned a Pontiac Grand Prix, a Jeep Cherokee, a Cadillac Sedan DeVille, and a Chevy Blazer before my 08 Priusl with headrests. I couldn't get comfortable using the headrest in any of them. Of course I didn't try too hard because in my drivers' training class back decades ago, leaning back too much was a big no-no.

I drove 1200 miles in 4 days in October last year and enjoyed the ride and my seat. If the Gen III works better, that's good. Just hope it didn't mess up a good thing for me!

There are more than a few (very tall) people that got sucked into the coolness of Hybrid Synergy Drive in a 4 door hatchback format (i.e. Gen2 Prius) ... only to realize a couple months later - oooh ,seat's not as good as hoped it would be.

Keep in mind last year, the only small, 4 door hybrid hatchback for sale on the planet was the Gen2 Prius, and the Gen3 Prius was shown only in artists renditions with no info of what the seats, etc... would be like.
