Do you have O{2} sensors in the exhaust stream?

In the Prius, the feedback system cycles between rich and lean to the catalytic converter. It is this cycling with catalytic converter that reduces CO by an order of magnitude and all but eliminates NO{x}. Are your systems equipped with a catalytic converter?

We know engines running lean have a much higher BSFC, less fuel for the same amount of power. However, the high rates of NO{x} leads to ozone generation. It is why diesels and their 'lean burn' have such a problem meeting NO{x} emissions levels.
