I agree it should be, however that has not been the case for the last 13 years or so with Toyota Dealers. They have attempted to wriggle out of any 12v battery problems by constantly blaming the customer or by claiming the battery is OK. Even within the first year. By the way, that is one very nice battery charger, at least according to the Manual. I cannot imagine ANY Toyota dealership having such a professional charger or being able to use it. OR: even desiring to adequately troubleshoot 12V batteries. It's much easier for the dealership to BS the customer and suggest they buy a new battery, while mentioning that the customer must have left something on and ruined the battery. Just search old threads from Generation 1 and 2, the evidence is there!

That charger/tester is what the local Chevy dealer uses. After testing, it spits out a paper that shows the condition of the battery and if it says change the battery, the battery gets changed.

I've seen a AAA tow truck (well, a AAA truck that handles dead batteries, jump starts, etc) with the same thing. The guy printed out a little receipt looking thing to show my friend that his battery was toast.

Too bad Toyota can't do that.
