that is soooo true. there's a reason that the dash is black. i ordered a beige/light colored "dashmat" to match the interior. but once in place, i could not see out the front window due to the overwhelming glare/reflection. so, i exchanged for a black dashmat. now, no problems what so ever.
I changed my mind a little on the bolded text. The dash on the 2006-2008 models is definitely black --- different shades and textures of black, but black. But none of those shades and textures of black are as deep a black as the black shown in OP's 2006-2008 dash photo. In fact, I still think that OP's 2004-2005 dash photo -- even with the large swatches of dark burgundy on the glove box and elsewhere -- is overall a more accurate portrayal of the black shades of the 2006-2008 dash.
