sorry to see this happen SoCal You are taking it better than I would have.

The logical thing to do here now is let it consume the bumper so you can claim it and get a sweet aftermarket rear bumper But then there is that annoying deductible.

 

I don't mean this as any evaluation of the OP's reaction or actions.

But you're dealing with an E-Bay Seller based in China?
You'll be lucky if you get the product price refunded. I think trying to get any other level of compensation back would be a nightmare.
Your best bet it to hope you do get the purchase price refunded. Warn as many people as you can (which you are doing). Fix your bumper and then move on from the situation.

 

We're dealing with ebay/paypal here. It's easy to get anything refunded if you open a dispute. But, I agree, don't expect any compensation for the damage, etc.
