Cutting the Cost: GM may take a hit on the price of hybrid systems to sell more units

    The actions of GM put me in mind of a computer giant, that pinned all of it's hopes on the continued success of the 5 1/4" floppy drive. Everything from here on out is an up hill battle; customer base stuck firmly in the past, engineering team used solely for grill and headlight updates asked to be real engineers and design something new. I hear that Gieco got the caveman idea from a group picture of GM's upper management.

    While that is true, it is has very little to do with the so-called blunder of HiHy in the US. What is not said in that article is how well the non hybrid models of those vehicles were selling in Japan. Very few place int he world are as SUV obsessed as the US.

    While I think the Highlander would have been better of with a simpler 4cyl hybrid packaging with conventional AWD system for the AWD models, it has hardly been a fialure or blunder in the US. ANybody know the new packaging for the upcoming Highlander?
