    priuscritter - Reno to Vegas...nice!
Not bad as the display shows 40+ mpg.
Were you always in 'power mode' from 0-100mph or does it just change to that at certain mph?

i use power mode on high speed roads or in heavy traffic for the flexibility. It doesn't change automatically to any of the settings. Yeah it really does pretty well at that speed for mpg. It was a 6000 mile trip from indy to california and back with other things in the middle, and my ave for the trip was 45. I was surprised given the amount of time I was at 75-80mph and the mountains.

    Wow.. Thats fast..

Just found this lil device if you were to test it out on NON-public roads...hmm...

    GReddy 15590201 Speed Cut Controller Nissan/Toyota Type-A $75

MicroImage has installed them b4 and it DOES remove the toyota speed limiter.... Wonder how fast the stock G2 would go w/o doing the mods that the Landspeed Prius did in the Bonneville Salt Flats - 130.794MPH (1.5L otto cycle motor swap from echo, modified intake routing, JDM TRD ECU, inverter upgrade, final gear changes, transmission cooling system, custom 1-off suspension, larger front diameter tires and custom exhaust)

I think Gen3 would go even up to 210 kmh (131 MPH) for short period of time and then slow down to somewhere around 185 kmh due to a lack of battery power. But that may overload electric engines.

I had the Gen III up to 106 mph last week for the first time...... it hit 106 and just stopped there. Must had been the speed limiting. I found it and bypassed it in the Gen II, looks like I have my next mod identified.

Then again it's only got 10K on it and the warranty is good until 100K maybe I'll wait on bypassing anything for a while.

They did all that and only got 130 mph???????????

What a waste of money............................ my semi-stock Gen II (Lots of mods, none to the engine other than bypassing the rev limiter and a K&N air filter) reached 118 mph, I still think I could have gotten one or two more out of it.

Well over 100 in a stock 2010 Prius. I think it is a very stable car at speed. I drove it consistently at 80-90 on windy mountain roads (and still got 38-40 MPG).
This week I will take delivery of a new Prius v. Guess I will need to take it easy for a while and break it in...

The v has a shorter final drive ratio, (I keep wanting to say rear end, but it is FWD) so it will have quicker acceleration at the expense of a lower top speed. I hear rumors of 103 being it.

("With the high compression four-cylinder wailing away, the Prius v belts out the 0-60 mph sprint in 10.2 seconds, which is pleasantly 0.2 second quicker than the manufacturer's estimate. As far removed as possible from the word "barnstormer," the quarter mile is run and done in 17.6 seconds with a trap speed of 78.2 mph. Toyota specifies a top speed of 103 mph, but we'll leave it to the reader to fantasize how much time is needed to reach it. - Motor Trend)

A wide range of cars take about 40 seconds to reach top speed. A v is probably close to that.

I do some traveling on I-95 and keep up with traffic... the look of astonishment when I have passed some folks is priceless... "Wait, what?!" I had a passenger who relayed the look of astonishment back to me... always fun when you get some idiot who starts tailgaiting and I immediately motor ahead to get them off my bumper... I don't like anyone getting that close...

I had one of my techs look over the diagrams of the Gen II and made a bypass for me to try.
He works at another location now but I'll email him and see if he stall has the plans.

I don't know if there has been any previous posts but Steve Wozniac got two speeding tickets in his Prius. One was 107 MPH and the other was 108 MPH. He got them both within a week of each other. I think he was trying to make a point about Hybrid technology.

Never thought I'd see a post on a thread on a Prius "pissing match".... how the heck do you do that? My son's 1994 Corolla could send windshield wiper fluid all over the place but my spray seems to be contained, thank Gawd... Glad SoCalBPrius came out ahead!!!!

Prius Wars... wonder if George Lucas is working on that one...:cautious:

Must be aerodynamics and speed equals trajectory of windshield wiper fluid. Mental note to self - stay away from other Prii cleaning their windshields on the highway....

I have done 115mph on a road nearby my house and I have done 116 mph on an inclined tollroad in Eco mode.
