Curious about the PIP for the rest of the country?

    That would violate the laws of thermodynamics, or at least the second one. The energy the wheel provided to run the generator would come from the drive system, and since energy would be lost in the process, the result would be less efficiency and less available energy, not more. However, the regenerative braking does something much better: it captures a significant fraction of braking energy that is usually lost as heat in the brakes, and returns it to the battery pack.

    That's more than a 45% difference . . . not to shabby - and that's in the frosty north too. Imagine what a difference it'd be for the 'V' to get that kind of boost ... or the hihy.
