Correct wheel cap size for LE 17 inch wheels? Alternatives?

    Did you install yours with, or without, the included steel rings? Are those necessary, i.e., will the caps stay in without the steel rings?

    Installed with.

    That ring is "C" shaped and acts as a spring in support of the tabs. It's a piece of cheaper polymer and I'll guess that the "C" spring is made of the softest chinesium wire available. With neither part likely over-engineered, I thought I should use both.
