Well the early clicking can be annoying but I’m mainly looking for longer range before refueling. I use the car a lot for Uber and lift and I’ll put sometimes 300 miles in a day on the car. When I have to stop and get gas isn’t always the most convenient time or I might have a passenger going on a long trip and have to stop and get gas in the middle of a trip.

I am surprised nobody has yet mentioned that it was only the USDM Prii (+ Canada) that got the fuel bladder. Just go buy a junked Prius gas tank from a source out of the country. It should just bolt in and work.

Yes complex but if you could get non-bladder OEM tank maybe. I would be interested if you can see visually why the older bladder tanks behave so tiny as they get old. we are just lving with it. We get about maybe 6 gals at best.

Filling up at a race track OMG I bet that is juicy energy content fuel I can only dream of filling up with.

That would be pretty expensive shipping a gas tank from Europe to the US. Plus I’m not to strong on buying something like that sight unseen. I’d rather go to the local junk yard and make sure what I’m getting is good.

I believe it’s been suggested before. Because of its size and the fact it had gas in it at one time shipping would kill you. I remember buying a gas tank at a California pick-n-pull for my 79 Honda Accord and shipping it to my apartment in New Jersey once. But that was the 80’s.

Ground transportation from Mexico South to the americas should be less than $50 and the tank would be basically free. Nobody wants them. Its easy to ship gas things. As long as there's no gas in it, no problem. Boiling it is pretty standard.

Well swapping to a non bladder Prius tank would be pretty easy I would still like a nice long range between fill ups. That’s why I was wanting to get the corolla tank cause it should bolt right in and it’s 13.2 gallons. Not the exact same chassis between both cars but close enough to where it should work. Should give me a 500-600 mile range.

Hey Mendel can you tell me where you found the diagram for the Prius tank? Would like to find one for a 2004-2009 corolla

Ok thanks Mendel. I’ll try and see if the local Toyota dealership can print one out.

TechInfo should have the best info, but it's behind a paywall. It might be helpful, or might be a bit of a let down, hard to say.

I have third and second gen Prius Repair Manual (pdf format), but not Corolla.

Alright, trying to do the tank swap on the cheap so I’ll try the dealership tomorrow for a printout. If not I’ll try techinfo.
