Confused.

Well, this is normal for pirated softwear and cable....
If you keep trying, you MAY be lucky and it will work, eventually.

 

You have to follow the instructions exactly. No skipped steps. It might be useful to know how far you got before it failed.

 

I had a nightmare of a time doing a brake bleed with a Mini VCI as the dongle, conked out like that about five times in a row, almost always very late in the process during the repeated zero downs and pump ups at the very end. On my 6th try somehow I got lucky.

A later attempt, same laptop, same Techstream installation, but an Openport 2.0 as the dongle, didn't have the problem.

I sort of wonder if it could come down to something as simple as a timeout, the dongle driver giving up waiting for a response because the zero downs/pump ups take so long. Maybe no dongle hardware difference is involved at all, just a more generous timeout coded into the Openport driver than the Mini VCI one. Just speculation though; I've never set out to test whether that's what's happening.
