A mechanic certainly needs to follow the instructions which are fairly involved to ensure proper alignment and tension.

    Thanks for this.
I seen a cool idea on yourtube video. After complete proper chain alignment. You can take mechanics wire and keep tension on the side where the tensioner is going to be installed.
You put the small wire on the chain thur the top cam area. After you get the tensioner to fully expand. You just cut the wire and pull it out.
Ready to fix it tommorow. Do to your vas knowledge. I bet this is the problem.
Been around cars 50 years. But not an engine rebuilder. I really appreciate you guys great help. I will take before and after pictures and results tommorow.
    Wife's birthday . Today. 51. I am 62.
I am roaring to go tommorow. Weather great. Got all impact wrenches and guns.

I waited a few days to give a final update.
Thanks for telling me about the timing.
I disregard checking it has the car ran fairly well.
I was confident that you were probably right.
Has I took off the time in chain? Cover? I heard a plump. In the cover.
It was the junk aftermarket. Only major item i brought not oem.
It came apart. I think the tensioner was making the chain loose and not doing the proper job .
I still got a small rumble. I do not think it was a defective head gasket.
Replaced felpro anyway. Can runs really good.
Advice I think can help. When installing the timing chain. Put a small mechanics wire on the chain to the valve cover. To hold the tension.
Release after you release the tensioner. Look at the wear on the new tensioner.
Thanks to all you guys. I treated this car to new struts and shocks coming today.
As a guy who sold toyota and worked for S.E.T ZONE toyota.
My opinion has a body customizer, but a mechanic who doesn't practice it cause I don't like it.
    Sixty two years old.
I read all about what a pain i* t** a** This head gasket was to put on in my opinion to sell your virgins

. Nice car. If you can put the head gasket on yourself. If you have good skills is the total waste of a good car To sell it. It's not no 17 hour book time job.
10+ working for full service Cadillac dealer.
know all about customer pay and book time.
two reasons to do it yourself if you have the skills.
if you're pretty broke and don't have a lot of money, buy the basic essentials, head gaskets and bolts skip the water pump if it doesn't need to be replaced and the cost is very minimal. If the car was running good before you took it apart,
my body's in good condition, two hundred and sixteen thousand miles.I like the car.
Based on my observation of getting fifty thousand more miles out of the car to put the money in this car was okay for me.Cause it makes me over a thousand dollars a week.
i wanted to buy a bigger say. Camry, let's 2014 with a 140000 miles. It's gonna cost me ten grand it's in today's time.
i was afraid I would get somebody else's headache.
show, in my opinion, summarizing. If you have a virgin model like you bought the car new and the body was beautiful.Fix the car.
If you're over two hundred thousand miles and you have the money, get yourself something newer and low mileage, this is just my opinion.
if my inverter goes or brake cly. I will buy on ebay for this car used. If I had a virgin one owner, I would buy new as far as the brakes.
If my transmission goes which is rare because of the condition of the car's average I will put a used one in.I'm only looking to get another six months out of it.
I bought it with 183000 miles and I got 216 on it. Thank you everybody

If your car it's in good condition
