They need to wake up. My hybrid Accord already outperforms the non-hybrid version. If you're shallow enough to need any more performance than that, you deserve to be left behind.

In five to ten years, you'll be lucky to pay ten dollars a gallon, I fear.

I find myself driving more slowly. Having paid for the technology to reduce mileage and emissions, I find myself setting the cruise control a few mph below the maximum allowed. I hear what you're saying, but all is one.

It's also so much more pleasant. A San Francisco Bay Area news show recently reported that speeding is epidemic. When you're slightly under the speed limit, the mad, mad world passes you by without getting too angry. Driving becomes much less stressful. I don't feel the need to rush home to relax. I start early. I'm also 57 years old. :idea:
