The Prius mod in the link is bolted on Going back to this low clearance, the following pic from Edmunds shows how the lip/skirt/dam on the Volt's simply a piece of flexible plastic/rubber. The Prius too has a small air dam behind the bumper which lowers the clearance further. http://blogs.insideline.com/roadtes...00_Spoiler_det_iphone-thumb-717x477-75258.jpg
Here's an independent observation of this phenomenon. http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...90536-17-vs-15-gas-mileage-2.html#post1273319
Yes, it's the only car forum (about the model) where are allowed some users that fulfill many of the below listed: Never owned the model Don't own the model Don't intend to own the model in the future Dislike when someone praises the model Likes when someone complaints about the model Don't believe what other users say about the model, despite their long experience and knowledge of facts Don't understand how it runs (the model) Don't understand how it runs (other cars, hybrid or not) Don't have a slightest idea how the environment is affected by the model (or other cars) I personally think you fit in some of the above... Believe me, it's a awesome forum, isn't it?
funniest thing i have read in a while, thanks a lot... ... only a GM employee can try to convince you that 3" is same as 5.5"
Never say never. I might consider a nice used Gen 4 or a late year Gen 3, when people here get sick of them. I will definitely not consider the Gen I given it's the first revision, Gen II which has one too many recalls or the early Gen 3 which looks like it still has some kinks to work out. It's a great forum with great technical minds.
Gen IV? What model is that? We're at Gen 3 right now aka ZVW30. As for "Gen II which has one too many recalls", I looked up the 07 to 09 models. There's a whopping 2 recalls for it, one was the floor mat replacement/reshape accelerator pedal. The other was apparently for Gulf and/or SE state models missing load carry capacity modification stickers.
tpfun, Some Prius users have ran over 300k miles and do not intend to get rid of them. You might read something about it, if you wish to do that, of course. Hey, if you want a unwanted product...Why not try a new Volt? Seems GM is sick of them, the way they designed/produced it and so different from the first "guesses"/sales tricks. And this great forum, and its technical minds, have predicted the design flaws of the Volt, even before the "washed" media did. See?
Gen 3 is designed to hold humans not trolls, which is why tpfun won't buy one. Maybe he's hoping for Gen4 they'll make interior room much larger.
Nah more likely he won't be allowed to apply for his drivers licence until after Gen4 is released. Either that or he knows Gen5 will be out when he gets released from prison, raping and killing little girls gets you a lot of time inside...
media training Regarding the "training" besides the instance I mentioned on post 44, Nightly Business Report did it again. Here's the transcript: Chevy Unveils the Spark | Nightly Business Report | PBS. They keep referring to the Volt as an electric vehicle. One point that they made (below): seems totally bogus: I find it very hard to believe that seemingly slow Volt sales have anything to do w/the lack of public charging infrastructure. I'm going to drop NBR a note when I get a chance to get them to stop calling the Volt an "electric" vehicle/car.
