Clip-on or Permanent Roof Rack for Kayaks

I don't worry about them coming off - I just find them a real pain to install and remove. I never leave bars on my car when I'm not hauling, so that means install and replace quite often. And it takes some time to get the bars in just the right place - and even harder to avoid scratching anything. I prefer to just drill holes in the metal once and be done with the damage and waste of time.

I used to use clip-on yack racks for YEARS, and never had a problem with them coming off? I just always had a problem with installing them quickly and easily. And they *always* damaged the paint.
