There's no time like the present to grab the bull by the horns, pull oneself up by the bootstraps, and wake up and smell the coffee! It's the beginning of the first day of the rest of your life! But, hindsight being 20/20 and all, I'm concerned that I'm not practising what I preach...since more people are doing what I say, and not what I do. And, while familiarity can breed contempt, it's also true that absence can make the heart grow fonder; either lead, follow, or get out of the way. The problem is, it's not a good idea to judge a book by its cover. Appearances can be deceiving. Pretty is skin deep but ugliness goes all the way through...except when still waters run deep. Interestingly, in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. That said, it's still necessary to schedule a sidebar meeting and drill down to deliverables and action items. Optimization of core systems is crucial to a well oiled machine. One is either part of the problem or the solution...the only time one doesn't make waves is when one isn't underway...so lead, follow, or step aside! Most important of all, lying with dogs means you'll end up with fleas. But, at the end of the day, once you've made your bed, you've got to sleep in it. Just don't forget that early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, welathy and wise...except if you march to the beat of a different drummer. Now, some people say that I'm a few trees short of an orchard, or that my elevator doesn't go all the way to the top floor, or that I'm not the brightest light or sharpest tool...but it doesn't bother me, since God don't make no junk. I've finally realized that you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, that it's better to light a single candle than curse the darkness, that people living in glass houses shouldn't throw the first stone, and that it's not worth crying over spilt milk.
