Oh man I wouldn't buy a car that was smoked in. I can't take that smell. Its like a nightclub thats been closed up for a while. Anyway change out that cabin filter. You can buy a spray bottle of OZIUM at just about any auto parts store now. Its a spray bottle that supposed to eat odors when sprayed in the air ducts cabin filter etc. I tried it and its pretty lysoil smelling. An old used car dealer trick is cut up some apples and put them in the back seat overnight. They absorb smells. Do it a few times and it might help.

Febreze may help with smoke residue. Try it on an inconspicuous spot first.

They don't. And the USA Prius doesn't. This thread is ancient. At one time, PriusChatters thought the seats were Alcantara. But I believe the prevailing wisdom these days is that they are a generic microfibre fabric similar to the name brand Alcantara microfibre fabric, so clean-up/stain removal should be the same.

Posted to this thread as it seems to have more info, but not my specific issue.

Anyone know any more about this?

I was eating in the car and dripped a little yogurt on the drivers seat. My interior is the beige cloth and the yogurt was coffee flavored and close in color, not that this matters.

Anyway, I used an upholstry cleaner I have for my micro-fiber couch and cleaned it no problem. But I too am having a problem with it leaving a water stain around the edges of the area I cleaned.

Anyone know how to clean it so that it does not leave such a stain when it dries? Anyone know any more about this?

I was told by a TTC employee that the best results were achieved by using a small amount of powdered "Tide" and warm water .

The mixture should not be too sudsy then damp dry with a cloth. It usually dries out without any water stain .

I have a 2009 Pruis with the beige fabric. I'm also worried about keeping it clean. I found some great wipes at Dollar Tree called Mom's Car solutions. They come in a handy dispenser that hooks onto the seat back pocket. I have the Mess Lifters and they work great. They are so saturated that I can use one and put it back to reuse again.

The way to clean any mess from any fabric surface is to remove what you can immediately, and wipe, not rub, gently. Start with the mildest and go to the less mildest solution. Usually that's water. But if you don't have water and a cloth handy, something like these wipes work great.
