I believe you must have done something else in addition to cleaning the HV battery fan. Even if the fan is totally non-functional, it should not prevent the car from going to Ready mode. Even blowing a fuse on the HV battery fan circuit would not prevent the car from starting. The most obvious place to look would be the orange service plug. If you had removed it, are you sure you completed the 3 step process to reconnect it?

If you removed the orange interlock, you probably didn't lock it when you put it back.

@davecook89t and @JC91006 both gave such perfect answers, I feel at liberty to give the fun answer.

"Put the dirt back. The Prius needs a dirty battery fan to start."

OK, levity over. I feel better. ;) The only real answer I can think of has been given. Although there was no need to pull the safety plug to clean the fan, it makes people feel safer.

The final step for the plug that most people forget is to slide the lever toward the pivot. That locks it in place and closes contacts telling the car that it is in place.

Seems this was resurrected.. I had the same thing.. we watched the nuts and bolts video, but he failed to tell you in the video that you need to reset the hybrid system 2-3 times. I cleaned my fan and got the error, car wouldn't start, had to cycle through 3-4 times of pulling out red fuse? Car was fine, he needs to update his video to tell you to reset after, but yes cleaning the fan on my 2012 caused errors just from disassembly and unplugging wires.

I also use Nutzboutbolts video when I cleaned my friend’s dirty fan, I did not remove the orange plug. After cleaning and putting everything back together car started right up. Of course the warning was still there so I cleared it with Techstream. No other problems whatsoever, so maybe we can’t blame Nutzboutbolts LOL

Most codes (maybe all?) go away after several start-stop cycles of the car if the condition causing them has been resolved. But resetting with an OBDII device (Techstream or something else) will work, too. (y)

If your car had a warning light before you cleaned the fan, you need to disconnect the battery to clear the light. Other wise, if you cleaned it without a warning light, you won’t have it when you put everything back together. I never had to disconnect the battery to clear the light because it never gave me a warning light.

I didn't mean any negativity, that was my experience, once I unplugged the required plugs and re-assembled the red fuse had to be pulled out and the system reset, just caught me off guard, I had no light before. Easy fix, no big deal, but should be appended to the video in case people have problems after.
