    Yeah, that regulation is for tanks that are transported in a vehicle, not the fuel system. They get jostled, banged, and even dropped on a much more frequent basis than the tank bolted to a vehicle.

    The 3 year/36k mile inspection is just a visual one done by a certified tech.

    Nuclear Fusion only needs Hydrogen (well - lots of other stuff, lots of complexity, heaps of heat - and it's not been developed yet).

    Depends on where the hydrogen is coming from.

    Getting it from Australian coal, and leaving the pollution there, is better for Japan. Though it is going to take more energy and emissions to get the hydrogen to Japan. Bringing natural gas in for a closed cycle turbine might be more efficient.
