The title of this thread says nothing about Mirai. Why you keep bring the Mirai into this conversation. It’s about China’s expansion in Hydrogen and how it will impact Tesla.
Because it was far more honest than your title. Your title was a lie and contradicted by the very article you linked. You should apologize for the deception.
Saying your illogical deception is logical does not make it so. Your article further noted: Fuel cells are less efficient than batteries and the cost of building supporting infrastructure like refueling stations is much higher, according to a report published this month by IDTechEx, a research firm from Cambridge, England. Fuel-cell vehicles will “continue to be a commercial failure for the next two decades,” it said.
The FCEV market in China, primarily for commercial vehicles, is growing at a pace not seen anywhere else in the world, Toyota quote. Japan's Toyota Motor Corp is doubling down on its commitment to the development of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. The automakers announced a new venture on Friday with Chinese automakers FAW Group, Dongfeng Motor, Beijing Automotive, GAC and hydrogen fuel cell developer Beijing SinoHytec.
Deception? Read the article and deduce what you will. The writing is clear that BEV trucking industry in China will be 2nd tier to Hydrogen Trucks.
You’re the only one who doesn’t read the articles you post. Others have to point out the information in them that contradicts your deception. Your thread title is just an outright falsehood. Why the lies?
Does the title of this thread say Tesla cars? No but you took it as an attack on Tesla cars. Tesla is a truck company too. Right?
You have some serious anger issues over Tesla and the failed Mirai. A counselor might be helpful. Your fear manifests as anger.
False? These are articles from around the world that show that Hydrogen is way more popular than you want to believe.
Sigh. Been busy trying to fix my parents’ v. Today was trying to replace bushings on the control arm.... I don’t see anything wrong with your interpretation of the article, having just read it, albeit quickly. Being an America Born Chinese with father from China: Always be on your guard. If they can’t win in the electric game because Tesla has basically a monopoly they will find a way around it. And they have the sheer volume/mass to do so. Elon if you’re reading, gotta move faster on the Commercial Vehicle front....
Elon's statements against H2 were mostly pertaining to that of passenger vehicles. He also thinks they are not the right choice in the near to medium future for short to medium duty commercial vehicles. China hopes to have 1 million bus/commercial truck FCVs (not passenger vehicles like the Mirai) by 2030. For perspective, as austingreen noted in another thread: This all from a market with a population of almost 1.5 billion people. Even with China's goals of 1 million bus/commercial truck FCVs by 2030, that's really tiny and no threat to any player on the horizon. Indeed, China knows the potential value of their market. Manufacturers want access to this huge market but China will only let them in if it suits their needs (forced technology transfer, getting their own engineers and skilled workers spun up, etc.). So Elon's fear has nothing to do with H2 in China but that if/when China decides they don't need him and his Gigafactory to help build a skilled workforce there and copy supply line processes. They could make things pretty difficult for Tesla on that front.
Is that why BMW ships Chinese made EVs to Europe, or why Daimler is moving smart car production there? Or maybe Tesla simply needs to ship cars from outside Europe in to meet demand until the German factory is running. Wouldn't take much to grow faster than the baseline FCEV growth.
