That quickly when the cars been in the sun several hours at 90⁰ in your Florida humidity? Everything is hot at that point. Lol
With a 4 mile drive home and 2 stops it's not worth it to me. Battery drains faster and the cars not much cooled off.

Yes, Very fast. It's a good A/C system. I open the windows, put the fan on high
for a 20 or so seconds, then I close the front windows, turn the fan down 2 notches,
close the back windows. When it starts getting comfortable, I press the "auto" button.
And I just leave it at 75. If it's really hot and humid, I'll go down a few degrees.
You might want to check that the red sensor is not covered on the top right of the dash.

My Prius is silver. That might make a difference. If you have a darker color one
    it might take longer.

Ok so I changed my fan after being broken down in Little Rock for a week waiting for it. So now I'm paranoid about the new fan now working. I keep checking the vent and never have I noticed it drawing in air even after high speed on the interstate. So now I've torn the back apart again and I'm running my pressure cooker on the inverter. I want to actually see the f fan come on. If I don't I'll just get a high speed fan and blast air down the f vent hole and f the whole dang thing.

Ok so I realize the fan probably doesn't come on until the battery is at a certain temperature and after fondling the hv battery as much as I dare I couldn't feel it heating up at all so the fact that the fan never came on during the hour of using the pressure cooker and charging the traction battery may be normal but IDK. It would have been nice to see some life in the fan so I know that it works.

Yes. It runs only when the battery is warm. I never hear it when the car is READY, but can hear it coast to a stop immediately after shut-down if the battery temperature is in the upper 90s°F or higher.

What I did was Scangauge II with an Xgauge for fan speed. The SG is around $100, and entering an XG is a pain. I wouldn’t go there if there’s other, simpler/cheaper options. Maybe some phone app working with Bluetooth OBD plug can do the same now?

I was getting obsessed with just verifying it's working. I've been stalking it all day and just now caught it drawing in air rapidly into the cooling duct. I knew I was being paranoid but I just figured if I let it go I would find out later that new fan was a dud. I'll keep it clean now religiously and trying to order the correct OBD2 adapter for Dr. Prius so I can monitor everything. Shouldn't Dr. Prius have made their own. I mean they made a whole lithium upgrade battery you think they could have made their own Bluetooth dongle but that's ok

Dr Prius site has very thorough reviews of various OBD dongles. They recommend Carista; that’s what I got and it works good.
