I doubt there are many "d'oh!"'s, as a group Volt owners have among the highest customer satisfaction ratings.
That's Funny, seems I totally I miss-read that. Gwmort's post suggest the intended goas was that the D'oh was self-directed to/from the Volt driver. I'm with him, if that is what the poster intendent, its unlikely to be correct. I presumed the post with the D'oh! was because the Volt driver was looking at the guy laughing and saying D'oh about the H8r being so stupid they don't know the difference between the real quality of the Volt and the Fox version of reality. I viewed as the Volt owner trying to communicate with a less fox-watching h8r that he was annoyed with them (The D'oh is an "annoyed grunt". I though that the poster was annoyed by the arrogance of the Volt owners. I made that connection because the Simpson's D'oh is, quite literally, a "sound trademark" of FOX broadcasting. (We Discuss in one of our IP courses in the difference between copyright and trademarks). Though I know the formal definition and history (from Tracy Ullman show), I don't watch the Simpson show (or the fox channel), so until I just looked it up in wikipidia I did not realize the D'oh was often used by Homer in a self-depreciating manner. I alway presumed he was making annoyed with or fun of someone else's stupidity when he said it.
Saw my third, and first local one on the drive into work today. No Leafs yet, but then the only Nissans I notice on the road are the Juke and Cube.
This was my first free range multi-Volt day. Saw one on I-5 in Seattle, another exiting 512/161 at the Puyallup Fairgrounds.
Saw a white Volt the other day. The sightings are still rare. I also saw a white Leaf in my area that same day. I believe there are at least two white Leafs running around my area.
Ooo, saw my second one today, a black one! The car looks a bit better in black, helps hide that odd black trim and the bottom cladding!
California is no doubt the land of choice for these beasties, here, I've seen 2 Volts, 0 Leafs, and 1 chupacabra!
Volt Stats: Owner Map Owner Map This is a map marking the locations of the Volts tracked on this site. The brighter green the marker is, the better the MPG of the Volts in that zip code. Pure green is 255 MPG, any more than that doesn't affect the color.
Ahh, I see there is one more Volt in this area, any tips on how to lure the shy critter out into the open?
Note that map si just of the 600 or so folks on voltstats.net and of those only those that added their location. Many many more volts out there, though map may be viewed as a sampling and give one an idea of overall distribution.
I just saw another one today. They really are not that noticeable I have seen 3 different colored volts and I don't drive often so they are around. I may have seen more if they were the same color, black, red and white I have seen so far.
The Volt is unfortunately very mundane, like any 2000ish small sedan, people walked by the black one I saw parked without giving it a glance. Love it or hate it, a Prius is unmistakable!
Saw my second one today, blasted past me on the A15 and headed into Rotterdam South (I was doing 105km/h on the tacho (95-96 corrected, it's a 100 zone), he was doing about 20km/h more . This time it was a (black) Volt though, I reckon they should be even rarer in the Netherlands than the (white) Ampera which I saw 2 weeks ago.
Saw a black one today. Like me, it was being pasted by everyone on the road. This might be why I haven't seen a Leaf. It looks a lot like the Versa. Thought I saw one yesterday, but then I realized it wouldn't be sitting next to a gas pump.
Maybe it was a leaf getting back at people for parking in an EV spots. Park at the pump go use the restroom and by a snack.. just to annoy people.
