GM unveils Chevy Blazer EV to challenge Tesla Model Y | TechCrunch

"The 2023 Blazer will come with 11.5 kW charging capability as well as DC Fast charging up to 190 kW, which the company says would add 78 miles of range in 10 minutes. The front lighting on the Blazer EV will show off the state of charge while the SUV charges, increasing in speed and intensity as the charge increases."

I'm certainly not an expert and won't join in and pretend to be one - but some buyers must want them

I wish GM well and hope they bring extreme competition and price pressure to the EV market.

Which is why Chevy is getting the Blazer and Equinox, along with the Silverado, before doing a Bolt replacement with the Ultium suite.

The question is whether GM has secured the batteries for production levels higher the Prius Prime.

agreed, larger will sell better, if the value is there.

The least expensive trim ($44,995) won't be available till 2024. That's if the price holds as promised. I am waiting for a sub $30k BEV to replace our mid size SUV. Don't think it's going to happen.

IMHO, the fast DC charging rate needs to be a minimum of 100 kWh with 150 kWh the ‘knee in the curve’.

If you are talking new, you can't get a midsize ICE SUV for under $30k.

The Ultium packs can take 190kW. The double packs in the like of the Hummer can take more.
Going to have to wait for some reviewer to run tests before we know the curve though.

True... that's why I bought a USED Pathfinder Hybrid. I think it was the original MSRP of ~$45K when new. But 5 years and 50kmils later, it was sold at $16K. So, if they start making a mid-size SUV BEV version priced at $45K today, there is a good chance it will be below the $30K mark in a few years.

Most companies, car or other, have to form a joint venture with a local one to just get into the Chinese market.

That car is a better EV than the iQ EV. Well, its top speed in 62mpg, but short range city EVs is all the public really wants.
