    Should you ever feel suicidally bored, there are a few threads on Prius Chat involving rodents of various types chewing through the low voltage wire insulation. I think it's because it's manufactured from recyclable vegetable material, which apparently is considered a delicacy by the critters with the lure of easy fast-food in a safe, sheltered café.

    A spaded or neutered feral Cat you keep around the house good for varmints and snakes. Get one or two from the local shelter..

    There are plenty of farmers who are very happy to have a python or 2 in their sheds for that reason.

    As for snakes, I keep them around for rodent control.

    Be careful what you recommend.
    The Florida everglades are being over-run with large Pythons.
    A recent estimate was that 85% of the "fur bearing" animals in the Glades are now GONE because of them. Lots of birds too.
    For some reason, it seems that the alligators don't help limit their population much.
