Charger cable dying...anyone pull one of these apart?

    hopefully the upgrade had sufficient safeties installed.
    The stuff is not supposed to catch, but there are always those defective units that somehow find their way into the channel.
    If it were me I'd send the unit back for repair, unless there are other circumstances involved I 've missed about the unit.

    As I understand this the OEM cordset has been replaced by a cordset having a 220v plug on the wall end. The modifier failed to use the proper matching size spade connector on the EVSE end of the cordset and crudely and dangerously just crimped the connector tight. This was and is a fire and shock hazard. No way this meets UL or NEC requirements. Twisting of conductors in a cable is a given which is why the connectors are soldered and or molded in place in most cases. This needs recalled by whoever configured the connection. That this is a known defect by the aftermarket modifier for some time is disturbing.
