I just bought my used 2008 Prius (55,200 miles approximately), and changed my oil to 0w20 amsoil synthetic (signature series) with the 15,000 mile oil filter. It runs about the same as before, but the viscosity is the key with it and won't sludge up or go super-thin. I've ran amsoil in my sportbikes and cruisers for years and it holds up much better than the blends or classic oils.

Some have reported increased consumption after switching to 0w20. 15,000 miles in PHX that includes the summer would be a good test. Please report back with your experience.
