That's a good one! America was founded on greed and on taking power from the king and giving it to the wealthy merchant/capitalist class. Note that at its founding, America gave zero rights to women or people of color and slavery was the law of the land. Only free, white, land-owning adult males could vote. The vote has been extended gradually to all adult citizens only as the political mechanisms have been developed for retaining power in the hands of the wealthy.
