These little guys may have sold for only $850 when new but now a good example of the 850 can fetch upward of $5000 or a Cooper S can fetch $10,000 if in good original condition here in Adelaide. They are still cheap to run and cheap to restore.

Anyone ever heard of a gullwing Toyota? This is called a Sera. 'Que' would be a perfect licence plate. :)

The Toyota Sera is one of the cooler Japanese 'Kei' cars, legal to be imported into Canada 15 years after manufacture. I think in the US it's 25 years, which is why you may never have heard of them. There's a bunch more to be found at Japanoid.com

Interesting site -- I'm always curious about the models that don't reach North America.

You're very welcome. I'm sure Japanoid won't mind the exposure, either. I've seen a few of these running around town, mostly the 4wd vans, a Figaro, and an S Cargo. They're all right hand drive, of course, being JDM, which must make for an interesting driving experience.

I wish I'd seen that. Which store? The Richmond one has a Toyota 2000GT on the showroom floor, next to a huuuuge Tundra with a tent in the bed.

The Richmond one. It was next to the 2000GT perpendicular to where the Tundra would be.

I'm sorry I missed it. It would have been a bonus of going there for service, just to look at.

Indeed. It was unlocked too unlike the 2000GT. Trunk space is deceiving. You lift the hatch thinking that's all there is but the parcel shelf is actually a false floor. If you lift that up, it reveals a nice, deep trunk. Gotta be careful of the doors too. I barely fit under the plastic.
