I haven't checked what prices used gen2s are going for, but they shouldn't be discounted if you are looking for a delivery vehicle. Comments at Cleanmpg feel it has a higher potential fuel efficiency. Even if you hypermile to the lengths some there go to, the 1.8L in the gen3 was chosen to improve highway ratings, so won't do most delivery users much good.

Just saw the comment on Gen2 prices. I noticed that at a newer used car dealer with HiHys and Gen3s. You are better off waiting for a new one. The difference in interest rates between new and used loans would likely lead to the same monthly payment. Besides, I can fully appreciate wanting more comfortable seats.
