My Prius is named White Lightnin'. I figured it worked on multiple levels. It's white and partially runs on electricity, ironic since it is not lightning fast, and well I like moonshine.
I'm currently calling mine IVy Black Magick, or just Magick... I've only put eight miles on her, but after work today, I'll be heading over to the stealership to hand them over some spare parts from my former vehicle...
I'm all for naming your vehicle. It's a tradition my mother started when I was a kid. She named all our vehicles. I grew up with a 67 Mustang...one vehicle that was kept consistently, that my mother, and thus all of us- referred to not as "The Mustang" but as "Scout". Whenever we were taking The Mustang...we were taking "Scout". And Scout referred not to any off road or utilitarian aspect of the Mustang...Scout was named Scout after Scout in "To Kill A Mocking Bird". I still remember some confused looks various mechanics would give us, when the whole family would show up to pick up "Scout" after a repair. It was always...Scout is getting new brakes...Scout is getting new springs... So with that in mind, I've always tried to find a name for every vehicle I have ever owned. That being said? I'm having trouble coming up with a name for my Prius. It's been over a year, and nothing has really hit me as appropriate. And I'm not going to force it. So oddly, and against history and upbringing...as of now? The Prius is unnamed. I'm hoping the name reveals itself to me. It actually bothers me to be driving a vehicle that I don't have a "personal" name for....
You shouldn't think of the car as unnamed. You should think of the car as having a name, but you don't know it yet. You need to get close to your car to know its name. She just hasn't felt like telling you yet.
I named mine c3p0 in may on another thread. It came from the paint code for absolutely red, which is 3p0. Wherever did you get the name?
Just got my Habanero-mobile last week...I've tasked my soon to be 12 year old son to name it...if no result by the end of the week...the job falls to my 7 year old daughter...lol
