That would be the first ship it could have been on if it went right off the line and onto the boat. More likely the Sunbelt, Joyce, and Texas? which are to follow. Ask for the VIR (vehicle inquiry report it will say). The next new Prius I might see could be a 2011! Still none on the lot here.

Finally got the email from my dealer that my car would be arriving in two weeks (Honolulu). I ordered back in July. I asked for the ship's name so I can track it.

I just spoke to my dealer at Star Toyota again. His vehicle inquiry still shows my car on the Polaris Leader, and is due in port on 16Nov, and arrive at dealer on 18Nov. The AIS shows the ship finally reporting and should now be in Jacksonville. Thanks again for your info.

New Century 1 NEW CENTURY 1 should be along soon based on its previous schedule. Will dock at Long Beach with your car. Then its on to the railroad to Texas.

AIS down again at Jacksonville. Waiting to see what Polaris Leader does.

    Hawaii, MarineTraffic covers it sometimes.

Spent a few hours at a Lexus Dealer today getting service on a GX470 Tank. Replacement key $350. Lots of HS250's ie 8 or 10 and maybe 6 2010 450h. HS250 is not a Prius in any shape or form. and for 40% more it shouldn't be. Both are very welldone. and available.

I tried your suggestion, but it came back 'no record found'. I looked at WW's fleet list, and did not see Polaris Leader in the list. It was my understanding that the ship is an NYK Line ship, however I couldn't find the name of it on their site either, only their container ships and not RoRo ships.

It was an idea. Guess the cargo thing doesn't work for Toyota's, the return trip, or for whatever reason.

I'm still trying to track the Polaris Leader, but for some reason it hasn't reported its position since 11DEC at 22:54, prior to even reaching Jacksonville, yet the dealer says it's due here on 16NOV.
It also doesn't show much prior to that report.
I was going to try to 'capture' it on some web cam coming into harbor, but I guess that won't happen.:(

    Polaris Leader is here!!!:welcome::welcome::cheer2::rockon:
It finally reported at 9:26 PM ET and is at Newark. So I didn't get a chance to catch it on a webcam. It should be at dealer on the 18th, or perhaps sooner. I'll let you know.:)

No, not yet. I would have thought I should have. The ship unloaded and departed 16NOV. How long does it take on average from then to truck bringing it? I did'nt ask for any port installed accessories, so that shouldn't be a factor.

Do you have some way to estimate the number of Prius off-loaded from each ship?

If you've been keeping the ship arrivals in a spreadsheet, we might be able to use the monthly Prius sales to estimate the 'average' Prius numbers per ship. I'm assuming Prius don't gather dust at the dealers.

Who knew there would still be interest in this in August edit I mean November? I didn't sign-up for the level of service $$$ that would give me that data. Next Prius model upgrade we will have satnav ship and cargo tracking.

The ships also bring Lexus vehicles and industrial equipment like forklifts that Toyota makes. I can't imagine they are full given current sales. Looking at SET on-line inventory I would guess about 2000 Prius per port per ship. Later I will compare ships to monthly sales, mobile right now. I'd like to see a break down of iv's and v's vs. ii's and iii's.

Interesting, you've prototyped a service Toyota USA might use to support buyer's 'online.' Just look at the thread history.

I got a call from my dealer this afternoon that my car had arrived. Finally, after a long six month wait. I will rush home from work tomorrow to pick it up. Thanks for your help, James. It made the final days a lot more interesting, and if only Polaris Leader would stay 'on-the'air', it would be better to track.

Other cars and trucks, not just Toyotas. Industrial vehicles ect. US exports to asia not just Japan. Depends on the shiping line. Sunbelt Sprit takes grapefruits as it was designed with refrigerated decks. search this thread for article.

East Coast gets 5 ships a month since May 09.
