The fabric seats in our 3rd gen Prius II and III (two and three) have no adjustable lumbar support, not do they much lumbar support built in. I can feel quite a bit of fixed lumbar support in my Accord fabric seat.

When the 3rd gen Prius first came out in late May of 2009, I was futzing with seat mods in my 2nd gen Prius.

First day 3rd gen hit Piercey Toyota, I jammed down there for a test drive. Sure enough, the driver's seat slid back a healthy 2.5" further (that's like 5 extra 'clicks' on your seat which is quite a bit relatively). And there was height adjust too.

A simple measurement taken from the brake pedal to the crease at seat bottom back was the basis of measurement. IMO, the brake pedal (and/or) gas pedal can form the datum of vehicle seating ergos.

It didn't take long to notice, geez, that steering wheel is a little tough to reach. Yeah, yeah, sometimes, I put my arm on the armrest and grab the wheel about 8 o'clock and drive.

The downer was ... oooooops, the great and magnificent 'telescopic steering wheel' only brings the wheel ..

0.5" closer to the driver compared to 2nd gen Prius ... ouch! That's not much.

2.5" extra seat sliding back ... 0.5" steering wheel closer (pulled out, tilt down of course).

    ooooops. They makey mistakey.

One thing you might want to try if lacking some thigh support on a driver's seat is ...

seek out a pair of shoes with very small heels on them. Running type shoes tend to have big heels and will rob a little bit of legroom.

As for getting more lumbar support, try one of the many lumbar cushions on the market.

I just like Honda ergos much better Civic, Accord, etc... things look and feel more in place. Too bad they don't have a full hybrid yet.

Wow that would be a tough one. You'd probably have to replace it, but that has its own set of challenges (i.e. no airbag). That black seat above goes low. I'm 6'2" tall and have about 2 inches to spare with sunroof and the outside roof height is only 56.4"

Downside? Have to squat a little lower to get in & vicey versey.

There are many variences in design though, isn't there?

Uhhhh, that might just be the point, you aren't really supposed to be resting both arms at the same time.
